Women's participation

A gender-equal society is one in which everyone is treated equally and can participate in society. Specific examples of this include an environment in which women are more likely to participate in decision-making and men are more likely to be involved in child-rearing.

The reason why this society is necessary is to "maintain a healthy Japan." I will explain the reasons in three parts.

Reasons for women's participation

1) Economic development

As the birthrate falls and the working population ages, we need an environment where women and people with childcare or elderly care responsibilities can work. Otherwise, Japan will face a labor shortage.

2) To live life as you want

The notion of gender-based roles can sometimes prevent individuals from living freely. It is important to live freely without being bound by stereotypes.

3) Improving the poverty rate of single-parent families

Gender prejudice increases poverty among single-parent families. Gender equality is one solution.

To realize this society, not only laws and systems but also the awareness and actions of each individual are required. In order to maintain a healthy Japan, we need everyone to work together to promote gender equality.
